Wayne Congar
Founder + Partner

Trained initially as an urban planner, and later as an architect, Wayne has worked for some of the top architecture and design offices in the world before founding Mayday; as an architectural designer for the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in Copenhagen and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture/Rem Koolhaas (OMA) in Rotterdam, and a branding consultant for 2×4 and Bruce Mau Design. More recently, he was the Managing Editor in New York for Actar, a prominent art, architecture and design publisher and anindependent brand consultant. Wayne’s work has been exhibited at the Storefront for Art & Architecture, the New Museum, and the Berlage Institute, and has been reviewed in The New York Times, Surface Magazine, Icon Magazine and Volume, among others. He is a regular academic design jurist, sitting on panels at Harvard, Columbia, Yale, UPenn, UCLA, the New School, NYIT and Parsons.
He received a Master of Architecture degree with Honors from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and a BA, summa cum laude, from New York University. Before flights, he buys Popular Science, The Economist, and OK! to read on the plane – every time.
Brendan Bilko
Partner

Prior to Mayday, Brendan worked as a producer at Jed Root, Inc., an agency representing the industry’s top photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, and illustrators. In his time there, he produced work for The New York Times, Numéro, Interview, GQ, Vogue, Dazed & Confused, Wonderland, Elle and WSJ, as well as campaigns for Calvin Klein, Target, Cesare Paciotti, Uniqlo, Opening Ceremony, DKNY and Gant. He has also worked as a creative consultant and engagement expert for start-ups and marketing agencies, overseeing everything from audience, to product, to brand development.
Brendan received his Master of Science degree from the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University, where he concentrated in interactive production, product development, audience development and media management, and a BA from New York University. He lives in Brooklyn Heights and unabashedly roots for the New York Metropolitans.
